The pictures are glorious and it looks like your timing was excellent!
Of the 4 productions I’ve seen, this one has the mythical quality of history rather than memory.
Perfect trolling: TCM’s Tuesday prime time movie is “Gaslight”. In case you didn’t have to wash your hair or something. (worth watching in any case for Angela Lansbury’s film debut)
I will never forget Lorraine Hunt Lieberson’s Didon.
Daytime WNYC has some good shows but I rarely listen these days—mate needs the tv constantly on🙄. Otherwise, I stream tons of music performances from Europe etc. Don’t know about Deutsche Welle but France24 has videos on their app. I should explore Al Jezeera etc.
Do you have basic cable? France24, DW, BBC (though they’re center right) offer alternate perspectives.

It was! NYFOS— Nee York Festival of Song—programs are always worth attending. Steven Blier is a programming genius and his notes, both written and spoken, illuminate with scholarship and wit.

The CNN (not my choice!) reporter just referred to a nanny in the news as an “ow pair”. Is it mean to call this out as inexcusably uneducated for a public media figure on national TV? “Au pair” isn’t that obscure or elitist a term, is it?
A glimpse of spine in 30 seconds: Trump rebukes a reporter for being loud and tells her to let someone else have a chance. She says, “Can you answer the question” and she begins to repeat it—(then someone changed the channel 😠). EVERY WH REPORTER MUST INSIST THAT T ANSWER THEIR QUESTIONS!
