Miles? Someone I was at uni with was totally like him. A complete Tory. Hateful, condescending, vile
That's right. He played a courier. My cousin tours with TT these days and I actually had a chat with him about this!
I liked the mad receptionist. Mainly because the 22 year old me quite fancied her
Poor Warren
Paging @socialsoprano.bsky.social
Loff!
Good stuff.
It's all go at Anfield, with Cannon having a fall. Meanwhile, Man Utd's Gary Bailey finally succumbs to this mad trend of goalkeepers wearing gloves - the big wimp. @themagicofthecup.bsky.social & @scraggy74.bsky.social report back

Sto lat!
Brilliant. #KitNews
Ideally. But there are football fans out there - admittedly most are barely old enough to tie their own laces - who are more excited by transfer business than they are actual football. They're the target audience, rather than old duffers like us!
Totally. Also why Ridsdale proposed it I expect. There are worse things in football. I just think it was a system that worked just fine
Some time ago, I wrote a blog about this dreadful 'ITK' micro-industry of football.
Forgive my parochial contribution to @sportingintel.bsky.social's post, but I think it chimes with some of the things he mentions. (Published in summer 2025)

Absolutely salute you for a brilliant piece
A brilliant take down of one of the industry's biggest charlatans - the poster-boy for every kid in a bedroom who wishes to 'break' transfer news to masses.
Brilliant journalism from an actual journalist, about someone who isn't a journalist.
Hopefully will help wash away the ITK transfer culture
Happy World Book Day. π
Yay more football!
I've got a radical idea. Maybe we could do it for all 23 teams? And they could each play each other across two legs, though spread out for some variety. Then, at the end, the teams with the most wins and draws could go up. Maybe, say, 3pts for a win, 1pt for a draw. Nah, bit much
It's happening then...
π₯β¬οΈπ₯Calling all #Boro fans:
#Middlesbrough legend Tony Mowbray will be joining me for the north-east launch of THE SLUM SPORT on MARCH 25 at The Longlands.
Tickets available at Β£10 on the door, or via this link: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/an-evening...
This an excellent summary of the acts of Mr Churchill
Rembered here for his Black and Tans and their many atrocities

Was it like this in 1893?
Dockers too iirc?
Indeed. And don't get me started on anglo-irish politics. Bear in mind I went to an RC school with a high proportion of second gen Irish kids, it was still UK/good, Ireland/bad. No nuance whatsoever. Shameful
Donβt forget sending gunboats up the Mersey to break a public transport strike. What a hero.
I had some abuse from a Farage-loving WBA fan last night, who failed to see the irony of defending a man who helped see off Nazis...while supporting fascism (but failing to see the same person was dreadful for other reasons)
Those kind of people can't deal with nuance or critical thought
I know what you mean about the history. I also learned Polish history during Saturday morning lessons, which unsurprisingly was less favourable to the Β£5 note poster boy. In addition, I did that little-heard-of-thing-these-days of reading books on the subject to try to learn more.
Apropos the mis-placed adoration of Churchill:
A reminder:
- he wilfully handed over Polish sovereignty and east-lying land to Stalin, betraying an entire nation in the process
- his policies caused the needless death from starvation of many during the Bengali famine
So, actually, **** Churchill
