In the listing for the one selling for 600 it says that it had a hole and stains and it genuinely looks like the stuffing is clumpy or gone...

Even brand new the price is not justified

I'm not even joking I saw a listing for that much, the plush looked so gross and worn, the description said "has a hole and stains" and they listed it for 500+...

I blame TikTok for it. So many types of collections being ruined because it becomes a trend or an aesthetic

Like why. Why did I see a listing for a retired design that looked like the seller ran it over with their car being priced at x3 the retail price.

Nobody is going to pay 150-200 for a dryer burnt plush with stains and holes in it just because the brand itself is popular

Seeing their prices skyrocket while their quality control plummets 😔

I feel very torn as a long time collector. I think I will draw something in regards to my frustration with resellers as well

As a plushie collector, I get so sad seeing what happened to Jellycat after going mega viral mainstream

To preface this, nobody is truly immune to ragebait or negativity. It's all around us and pushed by media outlets and algorithms or even your peers.

But take the time to reflect and ask yourself if that's all you ever engage with and if it's impacting your mental health.

I've been trying to only linger on posts that bring me joy rather than anger or despair, mute/block freely, focus on uplifting other artists, and to significantly limit my time scrolling or checking notifs.

The result: My timeline and interactions are a lot more positive overall
