No I remember how the 2000s were awful. And so much of the worst of them culturally is coming back RIGHT NOW. There was definitely a difference between pre 9/11 and post 9/11 but essentially pre Great Recession (and going into MEDIA) a destruction was wrought we have literally never recovered from
For real and I don’t think it’s nostalgia even? I have this sadness no one asked me for on behalf of Gen Z who have only known things being so shitty. And I think of how I got to have an adolescence and college where the world was full of potential and they like didn’t ever? It CONSUMES me
It’s actually difficult to watch movies from the 90s and 2000s right now because I start feeling such an intense melancholy for when things were not incredibly awful all of the time.
