i really want there to be a version of mclce made and maintained by the community, as i'm very much attached to this version of the game. if nobody will do it, i might honestly give it a shot once i'm done with pl 0.12 (so never 😭), i already have some people in mind that'd probably want to help

since it's leaked copyrighted code and assets, it's illegal to distribute any of it, whether source or binary, so it will eventually be taken down for good, or at least become a more underground thing, and that's not what i want, i want it to be a widely known thing and fairly widespread

i keep seeing people do wonderful stuff with all of that leaked mclce and mcpe source code, but i really do think that the source should get a proper clean-room impl as well as new non-copyrighted resources at some point if we want it to not fade away into nothingness

anyways, powervr is very widely used within the mobile space, it's not just google. apple used powervr for their iphones before they managed to go fully custom. sony used it in the vita and nintendo in the 3ds. and you could build a house out of all the other android powervr phones out there

this is why android phones have a security update lifespan comparable to that of a hamster. kernel fragmentation makes it a pain in the ass to manage all of these updates properly, and project treble has barely done anything to fix it

oh, android's fork of linux is handled completely different from mainline. vendor kernels are provided to android device manufacturers, which is why your phone has graphics acceleration in regular android, but runs like a powerpoint presentation the moment you put postmarket on it

sgx in this context is the model name for 5th gen powervr gpus, which is what got put inside of these cedarview atoms. i would have to use a custom vendor kernel in order to get graphics acceleration working under linux, and most of these kernels are like, version 3.x, and require old gcc to compile

most likely not. tbf, powervr historically has had atrocious linux support, and dxvk is very much linux first, so not that surprising it doesn't support it by default tbh
