My first fursona, an Utah raptor, I identified with because I wanted to have the qualities I saw in the animal like being a part of a pack and having instincts and intelligence. I identified with things that I was lacking.

As I learnt to love myself I adopted my hyena ‘sona which is just me!

My new therapist just asked me questions about my fursona out of the blue weeks after him asking about furry art he saw on my wall during a remote session. It was an interesting conversation, he identified some things between my first fursona (raptor) to my hyena fursona now that was cool to see!

What is that experience like to you? Like what power and liberation are you feeling when you create your own erotica?

It feels like spring! It feels like life! The weather outside is amazing! I’ve been in the biggest depression in my life for the past 2 years and in February I figured out how to dissipate it. The conditions of my life are improving and I’m so excited for what this year will bring.

Yes but what about the cat loneliness epidemic? Cats need connection! Cat third places! The amenities are great pleasures, but I wonder if it’s fulfilling to his little kitty soul.

I feel all of this also. It’s such a shame to have to experience life this way when things could be better pretty easily. It seems like people enjoy suffering, they keep choosing that least. Hopefully things get better after the midterms?

people like to be like "wow the furry community is so stressful i'm just not gonna be a part of it any more" but no it's the same wherever you go people are complicated life and society is endlessly complex
for better or worse we just do not live in simple times
