Chat, is it bad when one tech dude having a modicum of a conscience is the only thing hindering the plans of the worst people in the world to use hallucinatory robots to automate crimes against humanity?
This is overriding a ballot initiative approved by voters.
In the middle of an affordability crisis, this Legislatureβs first act of 2026 is cutting the wage of Nebraska workers. Families are asking how to keep up with prices. Weβre answering by cutting their paychecks. #NELeg
AI should deliver progress for workers, not just profits for big tech CEOs. AFL-CIO President @lizshuler.bsky.social joined @californialabor.bsky.social and labor leaders from across the country to address how we need guardrails to protect our rights, jobs and freedoms so workers can benefit from AI
At what point do they bear responsibility for enabling and continuing to fund a clearly unaccountable and unconstitutional government? Theyβre abdicating their sworn duties. They need to be held to account.
I donβt want to hear anything from an elected official unless itβs a plan to defund the DHS and impeach Noem, Bovino, etc. No texts. No emails. No talk about the economy. Step up or step off.

Contact his office here and let him know that his juvenile, offensive behavior is unacceptable. He should publicly apologize for insulting the people he works for and consider resigning, as heβs clearly not interested in any sort of meaningful leadership.

4-panel vertical comic. (1) 100 Years Ago [two people standing next to bicycle with small car nearby] PERSON 1: Itβs too dangerous riding a bike with these cars around. I should get a car, too. (2) 50 Years Ago [two people between smaller car and bigger car] PERSON 2 with short hair: Small cars are less safe in collisions with larger vehicles, so I should get a bigger one. (3) Today [two people between big car and even bigger car] PERSON 1: Everyone has huge SUVs now. If I donβt get the biggest one, Iβm putting my family at risk. (4) Soon [two people next to large armored car with spiked clubs attached] PERSON 2: If I donβt install more whirling spike clubs, Iβll be destroyed by all the other drivers who...

I want you to understand what it is like to live in Chicago during this time. Every day my phone buzzes. It is a neighborhood group: four people were kidnapped at the corner drugstore. A friend a mile away sends a Slack message: she was at the scene when masked men assaulted and abducted two people on the street. A plumber working on my pipes is distraught, and I find out that two of his employees were kidnapped that morning. A week later it happens again. An email arrives. Agents with guns have chased a teacher into the school where she works. They did not have a warrant. They dragged her away, ignoring her and her colleaguesβ pleas to show proof of her documentation. That evening I stand a few feet from the parents of Rayito de Sol and listen to them describe, with anguish, how good Ms. Diana was to their children. What it is like to have strangers with guns traumatize your kids. For a teacher to hide a three-year-old child for fear they might be killed. How their relatives will no longer leave the house. I hear the pain and fury in their voices, and I wonder who will be next. Understand what it is to pray in Chicago.

"Europeans recognize his vision about free public transit and universal childcare. We expect our governments to make these kinds of services accessible to all of us,β said Verbeek. βWe pay higher taxes and get civilized societies in return."
ICE is a domestic terrorist organization.
Republican Mike Floodβs comments being drowned out by chants of βtax the richβ at his town hall
By a vote of 27-17, Senate Democrats voted to stop sending arms shipments to a Netanyahu government which has waged a horrific, immoral and illegal war against the Palestinian people.
The tide is turning.
Americans don't want to spend billions to starve children in Gaza.
"Another officer says, 'Theyβre starting to resist more now,' to which an officer replies: 'Weβre going to end up shooting some of them.'"
Immigration cops tased a kid and threatened another and then joked about getting a $30,000 bonus. We're screwed.

The Netanyahu governmentβs extermination of Gaza intensifies. Malnutrition is rampant, children are starving to death, people are shot while waiting for meager food rations β and US weapons allow it to happen.
Trump and Congress must act NOW. Stop the slaughter. Feed the people.
I fantasize about being a parent somewhere without guns, fewer cars, and safer urban design
How many dead kids does it take?
Sandy Hook. Uvalde. Camp Mystic.
The GOP won't change. Gun laws, weather funding, doesnβt matter.
Not until the blood of children becomes more costly than their addiction to power.
Freedom from kings.
Freedom from fascism.

Breaking from the #NoKings protest in Omaha Nebraska
Every flashbang could instead be a meal for a poor kid. Every hotel room for a National Guardsman deployed to fire at our neighbors could house a homeless vet. Every "less-than-lethal" bullet pulled from a journalist's eye could be already needed healthcare for anyone else. All of this is a choice.
Can't be a coincidence ICE raids a bunch of meatpacking plants in Omaha on the day a Democrat moved into the mayor's office, right?

Late yesterday, LB 89 passed the final round of floor debate. Weβve all seen this tired playbook before: using one community as a political pawn to distract from lawmakersβ failure to solve actual issues facing our State.
Raybould's lectures are insulting. Basic dignity for workers is just something she cannot grasp because all she sees is profit. Disgusting. #neleg
π¨TOMORROW the #NELeg will consider bending its own rules to reconsider the failure of βLB258, a bill that will severely weaken Nebraskaβs minimum wage law.
Call your Senator NOW and tell them to OPPOSE this attempt and βLB258.
nebraskaexaminer.com/2025/05/21/l...
Today, 33 #neleg senators once again disrespected NE voters by advancing βLB415
LB415 would remove paid sick leave protections from 140,000 Nebraskans. This bill also disregards the will of Nebraskans, who overwhelmingly passed paid sick leave for ALL workers last November via Initiative 436.
Reminder that women in Nebraska face real issues with safety and violence against them, and it has gotten worse lately. But it's not because of trans people, it's from domestic violence and their partners violating restraining orders. Call your rep and tell them to focus on the REAL PROBLEMS here.
