A brief visit to @kentwildlife.bsky.social Conningbrook Lakes, Ashford just the heavy showers moved in. Canada Geese, Mallard, Tufted Duck, Pochard, Herring Gull & GC Grebe on the lake. On the edges were Coot & Moorhen. By the entrance & Silver Birches were Blackbird, Redwing, Magpie & a Goldcrest

We're very thankful to the Shanly Foundation for funding the installation of the x8 brass rubbing plates along our walking trails. Fitted with QR codes, visitors will be able to scan the posts to find out more about the habitats in Sevenoaks and the fascinating species that call the reserve home. π±

Our Dover volunteers have just completed 634m of hedge-laying at Lydden Temple Ewell - using 1,800 hand-harvested stakes and binders.
Nearly all of them had never laid a hedge before. What an achievement! π
