The upgrades provide an ideal base for educational activities, study days, holiday clubs, and family visits as well as an ongoing haven for wildlife with opportunities to see the impact of wilding on the former gravel pit. 🌱

These dashing goats do vital conservation work at our Sevenoaks reserve, browsing woody scrub while leaving wildflowers undisturbed. Their secret weapon? 'Hefting', a loyalty to home turf that keeps them grazing where we need them.

A brief visit to @kentwildlife.bsky.social Conningbrook Lakes, Ashford just the heavy showers moved in. Canada Geese, Mallard, Tufted Duck, Pochard, Herring Gull & GC Grebe on the lake. On the edges were Coot & Moorhen. By the entrance & Silver Birches were Blackbird, Redwing, Magpie & a Goldcrest
Events at Sevenoaks are starting straight away on the 2nd March with one event for families with toddlers, and one for home educating families. 👪 Plus plenty more across the week, including an exciting meet-the-author event!

We're very thankful to the Shanly Foundation for funding the installation of the x8 brass rubbing plates along our walking trails. Fitted with QR codes, visitors will be able to scan the posts to find out more about the habitats in Sevenoaks and the fascinating species that call the reserve home. 🌱
It's not just the Visitor Centre at our Sevenoaks reserve that's having a refresh!
As a part of the refurb project, we've also been undertaking a host of improvements around the site, including the creation of a nature-inspired play area, waymarking, audio benches, and brass rubbing plates...
Three years in the making!
Our Dover volunteers have just completed 634m of hedge-laying at Lydden Temple Ewell - using 1,800 hand-harvested stakes and binders.
Nearly all of them had never laid a hedge before. What an achievement! 🙌
