I love Lego art/sculptures, and I think centering Black characters, stories, and history through the lens of sci-fi is also very cool.

And using all black Lego bricks? …aestheticℒ️

I don’t disagree with your general point in GitFlow, but Sequence Diagrams (one of the few actually useful legacy of UML) actually flow from top to bottom.
And also in BlueSky, time goes up in the main timeline, but goes down when you focus on a thread.

For ICE to build concentration camps quickly, they're leaning on this Dept. of War program WEXMAC TITUS helps contractors bypass the traditionally lengthy government contract bidding process

NEW β€” An obscure Navy contractor program is making Trump’s plans to quickly build out and supply immigrant concentration camps around the country a reality.

Here I explain WEXMAC TITUS, an acronym you need to understand:

"Stay out of politics" is almost always an authoritarian statement. It attempts to shut down public debate (a cornerstone of democracy) in favour of the person making the demand.

If you have ever struggled with a server whose bios won't netboot because there's a misconfiguration on the switch, or the Ethernet cable is not coded right for the speed of the server's card (because your vendor silently
"upgraded" you to 25 Gbit because they were out of 10 Gbit cards), and then when it does boot, it is thermally throttled because it's tiny fans happen to be blowing in the one spot where your electrician tied a bundle of electric cables 10 cm thick, and then once you get the thermal throttling problem solved, you find out your version of IPMItool is incompatible with some stupid extension your server vendor defaulted to "on",, then you might understand why Oxide is a good deal.
If you idea of installing a server is "terraform", you're not going to get it.

Gen Xers grew up when we could rely on community via institutions like scouting, church, PTA, Rotary, etc... but we saw all that melt away after the Reagan era. Now we have to rebuild without the institutions, many of which turned out to be hopelessly corrupt. Minnesota is showing us how.

The only good thing that has happened in the last year is that we all got a harsh but necessary lesson that resilience doesn't come from having an INDIVIDUALLY awesome resume. It comes from living in communities, where you "pay in" when you can and "make a withdrawal" when you need to.

Canadians horrified by what ICE is doing should realize the RCMP uses the same tactics domestically against Indigenous people and yet barely anyone speaks up.

Journalists have been arrested just for trying to cover it

A reminder that there are only two days left to see John Akomfrah’s The β€œHour of the Dog” at the @artbma.bsky.social. His stunning film installation features many of mugshots of young - very young - activists who were arrested during the Civil Rights Movement.

Mugshots can reverse the narrative.

I know all eyes are on Minneapolis, but there's a fast-approaching nightmare in Springfield, Ohio.

Trump is revoking protected status for tens of thousands of Haitians living there on Feb. 3.

Reportedly, on Feb. 4, 1000 ICE agents are arriving to remove this population. Ethnic cleansing.
