Being an indie author and indie publisher means learning new stuff everyday. Today's lesson...embedding fonts, adding background images, bleeds, and converting documents into PDFs that are not Adobe. Sounds simple...not quite, but I finally figured it out. I can't wait for my proof copy.

Giving a minor character a larger role. When I introduced Merrick in Brothers, he was supposed to be a side character, a soldier that will follow his leader's every order without question. Now, his role has grown as has his reasons for following Vidar that started long before Vidar became chief.

I'm going to be honest. With the latest scandal of an ARC reader giving away or selling copies of their ARC copy of a novel before the book was released, I'm very nervous about having ARC readers now. I'm very selective of my BETA readers, now I will have to be of my ARCs as well. That's scary.
