Official AMD Response (in writing):
Yes, game optimizations and support for all RDNA Series 1 through 4 will roll out at the same time in both driver packages โ including but not limited to CoD, Crimson Desert, and Resident Evil.
AMD has confirmed to us in writing that RDNA1/2 will still receive game optimizations AT THE SAME TIME as RDNA3/4. So this should put the issue to rest, and if this does end up being the case they probably should have just said this and cut the BS.
AMD should do a full reversal of their decision instead of releasing wishy-washy corporate speak (while still keeping RDNA2 in the inferior maintenance driver branch)
AMD hasn't fully backtracked, they've just released a wishy-washy statement and are still putting RDNA2 into the maintenance driver branch far too early. So there won't be a follow-up immediately
By ending driver support for RDNA1/2 GPUs, AMD are throwing loyal Radeon customers into the trash
