We also need to know whether AI was used to select the target. WaPo is reporting Anthropic and Palantir tech were used to identify 1000 targets in Iran 24 hours. Who vetted those targets? Who pays for errors? It's possible they weren't involved in this strike but this we need to know.

Today's speech by the Home Secretary marks a dangerous shift to a system where rights are negotiable, discrimination becomes policy & state coercion is reframed as a cost-cutting measure.
If the Government continues down this path, it will not outflank the far-right but normalise it.

Refugee Convention 101. 3 principles. Fair assessment. Non-refoulement. Durable solutions (settlement *OR* safe return).
Untrue - the Convention provides both for the possibility that protection might cease to be necessary (ie the cessation clause: refugee status ends if there's a change in circumstances) AND the possibility it might need to be long-term (ie references to facilitating citizenship of the refuge State)
The government's fresh wave of asylum policy proposals are incoherent and cruel.
They risk making our already brutal asylum system impossible to survive, while recreating measures that already exist and failing to establish genuine routes to safety.
