A Waxwing cuts through the crisp winter air, its wings tucked elegantly against its sleek body as it powers forward. The smooth chestnut-brown feathers shimmer softly, offset by a dramatic black mask and a delicate crest atop its head. Bold white wing bars and the vivid yellow tip of its tail glow against the bright blue sky, while a flash of crimson on its wings catches the eye like a brushstroke of colour. The bird’s motion feels effortless yet purposeful, as though launching itself joyfully into the weekend.
