Yeah, I gotta do a bit of catching up on that front ๐
I also did a location breakdown a few years back...finding the location of the hospital was one of the harder ones.

one of my best catches as a student was watching this at the Hyde Park Picture House circa late 93/early 94 (also caught Enter the Dragon and Farewell My Concubine at the same venue). This film still kicks ass. May try to catch it again on upcoming UK trip.

seiko kinetic? I should have worn my airking...
Image shows my hand with a pretty little yellow and brown coloured butterfly settled on top. I think he was after my salt.
It's the first time I've heard of this festival but apparently it's ้ฉ่ (awakening insects day), so it seems appropriate to have met this little fella today.
Green vista of hills in Hong Kong. The eyesore on the right is Parkview, a residential development most famous for being the location of the Milkshake Murder.
Whoever gave planning permission for Parkview needs to be taken out the back and put down.
I think the impetus needs to come from National Govts refusing to send their teams...but agree, not gonna happen. People are so craven.
Robert Guillaume as Benson, on location outside the Regent Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. Shot in 1984 for Season 6.
today I found out there was a double episode of Benson that was shot on location in Hong Kong. Shot in 1984, Made in Hong Kong Parts 1 & 2. Posts to follow in a few weeks.

Free HK movie download- BULLET FOR HIRE (1991): Another Simon Yam "Heroic Bloodshed" movie for you all. Here, Yam plays a veteran hitman mentoring a novice played by Jacky Cheung (BULLET IN THE HEAD). This one has never had an official release outside of Asia. Download link in the replies.
Oooh, bless.
Are you still looking? This is happening on 7th...

Lol. My favourite film coincidentally
Gurney and Foyt at Le Mans
Also an amazing motorsports photographer, Dave Friedman captured the greatest years of sports car racing in America and Europe during the golden age of the sport. RIP
Thankfully, deaths in MotoGP are fewer and the main injuries tend to be broken bones these days. It's not perfect but certainly nothing like riding a bike around HK (speaking as an ex-biker).
Oof!
MotoGP at Losail as well.
Also, I've never heard of Unciorn Chan, only Unicorn Chan ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ
screen cap from black and white French film Le Monocle rit jaune, filmed in Hong Kong in 1964. The scene shows a group of gangsters inside the Shatin Floating restaurant as they atre about to attack our film's heroes. But who are the Chinese actors? One is Unicorn Chan and another is Ku Feng.
Screencap from Le Monocle rit Jaune (1964). I can spot Unciorn Chan and Ku Feng. Who else you got?
Now closed. Very sad but very common in Hong Kong these days.
