The four-month wait is finally over! I went to see Wicked: For Good and I was properly Oz-ready in my outfit.

A group of obasans spotted me and simply couldn’t stop staring. Then one of them laughed and said,

“Ahh! We see what you’re doing!”

They absolutely loved it.

A contemporary ikebana arrangement displayed on a white pedestal against a white wall. A blue folding fan with a soft gradient and gold speckles forms the central focal point, partially open and angled diagonally. Bright yellow mimosa blossoms cluster around the base and extend upward, adding soft texture and vibrant contrast. Tall palm fronds arc outward on both sides, while thin bamboo sticks radiate vertically and diagonally through the composition. The arrangement is supported by a black sculptural metal stand, creating a dynamic balance of movement, structure, and negative space.

Today was a day for helping and focusing on others and being grateful to be able to do so in big and small ways.

I strive to remember.

Things will never be perfect, finished, or just right. Finding the serenity amongst it all is the key.

Dinner Tonight.

Tried the kebab rice bowl again. This time half pound pork & half pound beef. Added more spices. Coriander, paprika, nutmeg, and cinnamon.

Made picked red onions and tzatziki sauce.

@hizaga would be proud. I used my blow touch to char the meat.

A rectangular black plate featuring a crispy, golden-brown chicken schnitzel topped with a fresh parsley leaf. It’s served with roasted baby potatoes and tender sautéed onion pieces, alongside a mixed green salad with shredded carrot and light vinaigrette. The dish sits on a wooden table, emphasizing the crunchy coating of the schnitzel and the warm, rustic presentation.

My dinner choices start with one ingredient I need to use. Coupled with what I have in the fridge.

New baby potatoes inspired…

-Chicken Schnitzel
-Roasted new baby potatoes tossed in olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, fresh thyme,
rosemary, parsley, salt & pepper.
-Roasted Onion
-Salad

Close-up of a viral-style kebab rice bowl inspired by Instagram and TikTok trends, featuring seasoned sliced kebab meat drizzled with creamy sauce over white rice. The bowl is topped with a fresh salad of crisp lettuce, juicy tomato chunks, and thinly sliced red onions, all lightly dressed and finished with an extra drizzle of sauce.

I finally tried the popular Donair/Kebab meat recipe. Verdict?

Pretty great and easy to make, will make again!

Couldn’t find pita in my area, so a kebab rice bowl.

I did 1 tsp, garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, and chili powder. 1tsp black pepper, and Oregano, 1/2 tsp salt.

Portrait of a stylish man seated indoors wearing a beautifully tailored kimono made from traditional Kawagoe Tozan fabric. The soft blue, cream, and pale yellow stripes complement his silver hair and enhance his calm, confident presence. He gazes toward the camera with a relaxed expression, one arm raised casually, creating an effortless, refined pose. The muted green wallpaper and neutral sofa in the background add warmth and depth, highlighting the elegant drape and craftsmanship of the kimono.

Educational poster titled “Flowers of Japan – February” featuring ume (plum blossoms). The design has a cream patterned background with red plum illustrations and bold black and blue headings. Sections explain symbolic meaning, history, and famous art. Text notes that ume is part of the “Three Friends of Winter” and symbolizes strength, resilience, longevity, and the arrival of spring. A history paragraph describes plum blossoms being introduced from China in the Nara period and later overshadowed by cherry blossoms during the Heian and Edo periods. Images include an ikebana arrangement of plum branches in a blue vase, Ogata Kōrin’s Red and White Plum Blossoms folding screens, a portrait-style illustration of a man holding a colorful umbrella, and a glass teapot labeled “Maehwa-cha.” Orange decorative wave patterns frame the layout.
