This is literally the least surprising thing you could have told us.

I don’t know a huge amount about either, but I wonder if Appalachian music is a bit more swung and that kind of Irish music is played straighter?

More concretely: I don’t want AI to write my emails for me; I do want it to find a mutually convenient meeting appointment for me.

I think a huge priority for each of us is to figure out which mundane tasks are either an essential part of the creative process or vital to learn/hone skills, and which mundane tasks we can safely automate without losing anything. My gut tells me there are fewer of the latter than we expect.

Once again, please just talk to people instead of nursing silent grievances to vent anonymously online.

Personally, probably Northumberland. But you could make a good case for Sheffield.

The Apprentice is a loosely-business-themed game show. It has as much relevance to business as Pointless has to brain surgery.

Would that that were true.

And yet Charles is sitting pretty for the foreseeable.

Iβ€˜m not saying framing and details of wording etc never make any difference, but we’re talking about tiny percentages of β€œuplift” (genuinely the worst word ever invented).

I think it’s instructive that governments use nudge for stuff they’re pretending to care about, and large scary people with batons for stuff they actually care about.

This is your brain on ChatGPT.

Excited to find out where this goes.

It was pretty gay, to be honest.

Sure, let’s have a massive culture war pissing contest about cash. Then we can move onto telegrams, steam engines and the best designs for chainmail.

I’m beginning to wonder if all political focus groups are held in Wetherspoons. (Or Twitter, which is essentially the same thing.)

I might have to track one down!

Sorry to hear that. Seems to be part of being an artist (especially a female artist) online, but it's grim. Just know they're very much in the minority!

This is a category error. AI is not a writer.

I literally do not understand people who do this. If you don't like something, just move on; why make the world nastier than it needs to be?

Between Two Rivers 'I have never read a book on Mesopotamia that so beautifully brings to life the people themselves ... It melts away the sense of time. A wonderful read.' TO...

Someone's already suggested my favourite fiction book ever (The Book of the New Sun), so what about the wonderful Between Two Rivers? www.hachette.co.uk/titles/moudh...

Yeah, it's usually a bad sign when artists discover a new medium, to be honest. As an (amateur) photographer I almost always detest photographs by artists (Hockney included).
