Having had some pretty bad looking discs, having both the VHS, and a LaserDisc version of the same movie, there is still zero question the LaserDisc looks better blown up on my 32" Sony WEGA purely because of the increased line count when comparing them back to back.

I have a couple releases that are on par if not better than the DVD releases.
Twister CAV version (Does look better IMO than the CLV, I have both)
Men In Black CLV (I was lucky to have the version that has no rot, but the image quality is amazing)

Dude, what a crazy coincidence, I found this exact release today at my local Half Price books, but I unfortunately had to pass on it because it had a NASTY scuff across one side of the disc.
