I'd possibly agree if the gap was updated multiple times per second, but as it is just a snapshot once every few seconds the thousandths are just noise. I can see the argument for keeping hundreths, but even that I'm not convinced isn't mostly noise.

You put an interpreter in your interpreted language so you can run twice the amount of languages at the same time?

I know there's a body of research on how to adapt PEG parsers to do stuff like what you describe, but it does sound like square peg round hole here. Is this related to your VHDL work?

You could use a PEG parser and skip the tokenizer! However I don't know if that's actually better, just that it's possible with PEG.

I get a jumpscare every time the gmail icon flashes in my annotations, but it's gotten better over the years.

I find that asking it like "what do you mean by that? Genuinely curious" shows that you are not questioning them. I've had good results with this online.

Given your posts on the game I'm not sure I'd agree, but I'd love to hear what you have to say about the game! But I know you got to play the youtube game 🫡

A 2:1 polyrythm sounds stupid, but |1-12|1-12| (quarter notes, -: pause, 1: clap one hand, 2: clap the other) is a 2:1 polyrythm where the 1 rythm is shifted a quarter note ahead/three quarter notes behind. Now extend this to 4:3 or 5:7 and you get strange stuff

I disagree, but it takes a while getting used to. What bothers me the most is camelCase function names and no dedicated syntax for anonymous functions. The latter in particular annoys me a lot, I don't want to hide functions in structs!
But I really like that metaprogramming is just regular Zig!

Which good engineers round to three. Or maybe four, but not 10 like some astronomers
