Imagine being this rich but you still can't afford to buy a vowel.
I wish they would come for this poem
Those phrases are still in currency with the old meaning, except I guess to you.
Twain never said it. The quote is from Christian Nestell Bovee
It would be fascinating to see Facebook go full 4chan! But we both understand that this stuff falls into bins, and Facebook can keep most of them intact (antiterrorism, CSEM, crypto fraud) while ditching the more ideological layers. What I'm most curious about is how it plays out in other countries.
I think there's a more charitable reading of the situation where Zuckerberg sees a perfect exit ramp from what has become a losing game, while also demonstrating some decent political instincts. People really dislike platform moderation!

It will be interesting to see how long it takes Bluesky to ditch the pretense of decentralization, since in practice it is the direct opposite to what users want.
They used this to weed out the stupid ones
Wishing this site was a little less "Subaru bumper sticker".

Since this place has API access, I'm considering adding Bluesky support to Pinboard, but I'd like to hear about people's needs. Do you want an archive of your own stuff? Something that collects stuff you like or retweet? A way to bookmark individual posts on here? I'm all ears about use cases.
