Iβll be in my office.
Something fun for today, since the news is just so dire⦠a wonderful combination of mime, physical comedy, and puppetry...
Cool, looking forward to listening to it - coming up on the end of another multi-season series I listen to in the car, been looking for the next thing...
S.H.I.E.L.D. logo from Marvel
Shield of the Americas? Did Marvel not teach people naming weird governmental organizations anything?
The again, S.H.I.E.L.D. was kind overrun by Nazi-adjacent folks, so... could be on brand for these yutzes...
I'm picturing a large vaudeville hook... :)
Certainly doesn't look like your average superhero show...
I know, right? It's one of those places you can't imagine not being there...
According to someone on Reddit (bag of salt grains, natch), they dropped their commercial mower sales and service department a few years ago, and that was the beginning of the end, losing corporate accounts.
Personally, I find *all* coffee undrinkable.
Like the smell of it, used to love walking by one of the stores in the mall that ground beans fresh. But the liquid? Absolutely vile...
That may be a regional thing - we still have Tagalongs here, but our area gets cookies from the Little Brownie Bakers, which means the *good* Thin Mints...
Your area is probably serves by the ABC Bakers, which has alternate versions of many cookies...
After 148 incredible years, the Mayo family has made the difficult decision to close Mayo Garden Centers. This was not an easy choice. Changing business conditions and family circumstances have led us to the point where we must say goodbye to a company that has meant so much to our family and our community. We are deeply grateful to the friends and customers who have supported us for generations.
Knoxville institution Mayo Garden Centers just announced they're closing after 148 years.
They're the oldest local business, first opened in *1878* as a seed store.
Haven't needed anything from them lately, but they were always there. One of those places that seemed like it always would be there.
Kudos on the loop point... :)
It is kind of odd that the credit block on the back cover for SW has been altered - it reads β20th Century Studiosβ presents w/Lucasfilm, not β20th Century Foxβ, as it should, since Studios didnβt exist in 1977β¦
The 2022 Region 2 release with this art still listed it as "20th Century Fox"...
AI hands against an AI backdrop of beige books on shelves, holding a poster. The headline reads "Publish Your Book On On Oi Amazon with ease!" then there's an image of a man holding a book behind his back in a joint-cracking manner, and a bunch of garbage text that, in the way of AI, reads as if someone, probably you, has had a stroke. Let BookQuill on publishing Handle, Editing, stardout on Amazon Sect Ed Editing, SEO, Farmating & make you tok syour Book an Print Design! With crap ads like this, it's a wonder that *ANY* of these scammers get any takers for their edook fublishing on on oi Amazon schemes... It really stardouts! π
While the books are great, I highly recommend you listen to the original radio series of HHGTTG first, as that's the original version, at least the first two series... the later books were adapted into series 3-5 (with all the surviving cast), and those are excellent as well...
It's sad how Wile E. Coyote is remembered for his violence, and not his brilliant paintings of tunnels...
I hear "perfectly normal", and my mind immediately goes to Douglas Adams' "perfectly normal beasts" from the fifth Hitch-hiker's Guide book...
"They come from where they come from, and they go to where they go to, and that it's Bob's will, and that's all there is to it.β

Londo Mollari: "Only an idiot fights a war on two fronts. Only the heir to the throne of the kingdom of idiots would fight a war on twelve fronts."
Using a Star Trek GIF, post where you're at right now. π
One of those things you didnβt know you needed until you heard itβ¦ prepare to go down the boomwhacker rabbit holeβ¦ οΏ½
Been killing some time by making some new art for my office... found the original full-rez NASA image used in this meme, used the ACME logo from Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and recreated it as a full-size 24x36 poster...
Now to get it framed... :)
Leonard Nimoy starred in that, IIRC. I came across a VHS of the pilot a few months ago in my archive, as I worked for the WB back thenβ¦ I may even have the whole show saved on a DVCpro tape somewhereβ¦
I remember liking itβ¦
Looks like the vegetables was 1984, the fruits & nuts was 86...
Do you have a copy of the poster? Want me to send you the full recreation?
Even NPR slinging (imputed) obscenities now
Pretty sure I have all three - I was more into comics at the time, and a friend from high school ran the popular comic store in town back then, so he made sure to alert me about stuff I'd like...
Have to go check the longboxes...
