For all of the continuous stream of criticism against science, scientists and engineers, can we just pause a minute and thank the ones who prevented hundreds of death in Blatten, days before the mountain collapsed ?
When two stable geniuses fight, it makes you feel like a stable genius.
When is the next episode of @thedailyshow.com? I can’t wait :)

Eighty years of transatlantic military trust unraveled in just weeks.
Not long ago, it would have been unthinkable for EU countries to reconsider F-35 orders, for Australia to re-engage with France over submarines, or for ITAR to become a casual discussion topic.

Building an empire vs. one-off deal making.
IMO, it is clearly a preference and Marcel’s not-too-civil « Stockholm Symdrom » triggered a few of us :)
That being said, it is kinda hard to A-B test it :)
And when you see the output of « unicolor » governments over time, not sure it is going to un-Stockholm too many of us.

Biking at 90 Watts, you'd only need to continuously bike for 8'117 years in order to mine one bitcoin. But there would probably be none left by then.

I actually read their hype cycle very differently. In my view it is a way to not "over-react" to any particular phase, either positively or negatively i.e. even if things might look doom at some point, don't throw the baby etc.
