The way Youtube's comment system has been altered over the years makes it so replies to old comments have no context and it's possible the old comment was just deleted so there's this 17 year old comment from me on a YTP I made that just says Gradius IV. The video has nothing from Gradius IV in it.

It had a really nice weight to its movement. I love Mario sunshine but I think what J&D lacked in depth perception it made up for in satisfying gravity. I felt like j&d was a real globe trotting adventure
Another game that really hit me at the right time was Jak and Daxter. I think those last few 3d platformers of the ps1/ps2 era were so strong. It was just a great feeling game. The movement was so expressive.
The only final fantasy I played before it was tactics and it was so serious and all the dialogue was in ye olde fantasy speak. I love tactics now but as a kid I needed kingdom hearts as the bridge to more conceptual/dense rpg stories.
I love kingdom hearts. I think you gotta understand that at the time of release it felt like such an accessible high fantasy property for children. As a little kid I adored how imaginative it was. It really taught me about the escapism of rpg storytelling.
Some of you see me for who I am and I thank you for that.
