Very pleased to hear this support for the new West Surrey Council will be forthcoming. Whilst historic issues in Woking are a big part, there are financial issues within other boroughs/County.

I’ve previously got the Government to write off £500 million of #Woking Borough Council’s historic debts. The Local Government Minister has now confirmed it will give our new West Surrey Council interim financial support - it’s vital this council starts on a firm financial footing.

Needs debating in Parliament tomorrow as an urgent item - hope it’s stopped.

Poor decision. I foresee protests on this.

Absolutely colossal night of success for the Lib Dems.

In the 10 byelections, the LDs have gained from the CONs, GRNs, INDs and LAB, with a narrow loss to REF by 31 votes in Babergh.

Scoreboard: LD 7, REF 1, CON 1, IND 1.

I assume the media will cover this as breathlessly as every opinion poll?
