Yesterday evening was the Mayorโs gala ball. A fantastic event raising money for Citizens Advice
Iโm using the photo to highlight #internationalwomensday showing women in leadership, Our Mayor, the Mayor of Rastatt, the leader of Woking Council & me as Deputy leader.

Very pleased to hear this support for the new West Surrey Council will be forthcoming. Whilst historic issues in Woking are a big part, there are financial issues within other boroughs/County.

Iโve previously got the Government to write off ยฃ500 million of #Woking Borough Councilโs historic debts. The Local Government Minister has now confirmed it will give our new West Surrey Council interim financial support - itโs vital this council starts on a firm financial footing.

@willforster.bsky.social is pleased to introduce Ellen Nicholson and Peter Graves candidates for the #Woking South East in Mayโs elections.
Ellen & Peter have a lot of experience helping local people already, they will make a great duo on the new #WestSurrey Council. @assoclibdemcllrs.bsky.social

Both my father and grandfather served in our armed forces on active service. It takes a team to make things work.
How dare Trump imply UK armed forces who served alongside the US forces in Afghanistan didnโt quite serve in the same way.

Brexit was such a lie.
Itโs actually made the U.K. poorer, more isolated, insular and less secure
And remember who led the drive that has made us more insecure - Farage alongside Johnson & Co.
The U.K. needs to accept its error and seek a closer union with Europe.

Carers are often the bedrock of our families and communities, unsung and sometimes unseen, striving for better care and advocacy, for those they care for, often at great personal cost.

If they can't be visionary, can they at least be competent. People want stability and assurance, not constant uncertainty

Absolutely colossal night of success for the Lib Dems.
In the 10 byelections, the LDs have gained from the CONs, GRNs, INDs and LAB, with a narrow loss to REF by 31 votes in Babergh.
Scoreboard: LD 7, REF 1, CON 1, IND 1.
I assume the media will cover this as breathlessly as every opinion poll?
