I'm John. I was told "the Irish aren't any good at learning languages" by my freshman advisor at Harvard, where I went on to graduate summa cum laude majoring in Linguistics and Near Eastern Languages. Later, I became a Distinguished Professor in a top linguistics department. I guess he was wrong.
