Through the EU's DSA and US litigation, new evidence is emerging about how social media platforms understand and address risks to minors. Peter Chapman and Matt Steinberg analyze what these parallel processes uncover about how platforms assess risk and design.

The commitment also includes a requirement for a structured internal monitoring framework, overseen by a dedicated team, to systematically assess implementation and effectiveness of all commitments for 5-years, which will be reviewed through systemic risk assessment and audit requirements.

As platforms restrict independent researchers from accessing platform data, governments will set the standard for data access. KGI submitted research-based input highlighting the need for @Ofcom, UK’s regulator of communications services, to expand platform data access . bit.ly/3E0udvI
Meta’s recent announcements include two changes in its moderation efforts and one change to its algorithm design. The algorithm design changes are the least clear and likely the most impactful, writes Ravi Iyer.
