I worked out this morning and made myself breakfast featuring veggies from the farmer's market. Feeling hopeful today will be a good day.
This month, a subscriber suggested replicating a finding from a Quinnipiac University poll on immigration. We asked U.S. adults if they'd prefer a path to legal status for undocumented immigrants or mass deportations, IF they had to pick one. We got a 60-40 split in favor of a path to legal status.
I signed up for a 545 workout fully intending to check my email beforehand. Yet here I am, on my second cup of coffee and scrolling the socials.
These days I am grateful to have a spouse and best friend to hold me down and take care of Lydia. My schedule has me gone until probably well into the evening.
Also, I made a noise that was not quite human when I was informed the coffee maker has been moved to the new office.
13 hours of meetings and I came home and put away my laundry and made my bed. I also managed to nearly choke on an egg roll which somehow caused me to laugh so hard tears ran down my face...as I continued to choke. Today was one for the books.
I got mad once and vaguely unhinged once today. 0/10. Do not recommend.

I still haven't figured out what flavor of femme I like (curvy and pretty but can use power tools?) But my masc preferences are: 1) nerdy policy wonk or 2) Bad boy commie who can throw down in the streets. And I married one of each.
Well, I have some hope about the probable new Mayor of Tacoma. I don't have his ear anymore, but I believe I know his heart. Go team Ibsen!

today i went to a progressive jewish gathering and someone asked me given my background—granddaughter of holocaust survivor, family in israel—if i could still empathize w the pro-Israel POV. i said i tried hard the last couple years, but i’ve given up. no justification outweighs palestinian lives.
I’ve been a civil rights atty for over 30 years. What do you imagine about this country can “surprise” me at this point? I have been ringing the alarm bell abt white supremacy as the gateway drug to ending democracy for years. But I will still hold standards for people, institutions, and my country.
