I really love Mini Metro as a between-big-games palate cleanser

My kingdom for an eater guide to unionized restaurants
Ned Ludd vs Ring when?
Really bummed by all the small businesses around town making AI ads for Instagram. They all look like shit and are so much less effective than my favorite neighborhood spot that just records a goofy, earnest self-filmed address by the chef each day. Easy, personal, informative.
The DCC Lankhmar adventures are fun, but for a very specific vibe
I'm running The Jeweler Who Dealt In Stardust (join a gang of thieves stealing from their boss's definitely not haunted manor) & The Seventh Thrall of Sezrekan (form a motley rescue party for your wizard benefactor who's been kidnapped by an undead warlord). Seats still open for both!
A horned skull with “PDX OSR” written in it, with details for PDX OSR CON 2 below, noting it’s on February 21st, 10am to 10pm at Peninsula Odd Fellows Lodge
Come play an rpg with me! I’ll be running Dungeon Crawl Classics most of the day for PDX OSR Con Feb 21st! You can snag a seat here: tabletop.events/conventions/...
Hey @pbotinfo.bsky.social I just watched a parking enforcement vehicle pass an Amazon delivery van parked in the “protected” bike lane on Rosa Parks without giving them a ticket, what gives?
Yeah, trying to bike north-to-south in east Portland is a nightmare
Would there be legal ramifications for PPB/the city? Probably. But legal barriers have certainly never stopped PPB from brutalizing portlanders. They seem pretty impossible to be held responsible for anything they do, why not use that power for something portlanders support for once
Cops choose what calls to ignore every day (ask anyone whose car has been stolen or pdx’s small businesses if PPB rushed to their aid), they could simply prioritize calls that help citizens over defending an already heavily armed federal force. To do otherwise is to openly join with fascists.
Seems like a good way to rein in PPB’s ballooning overtime, a significant component of the city’s fiscal crisis, would be a simply stop responding to (defending) the ICE facility. Hate seeing my local tax dollars fund guarding fascists from my neighbors
Just posted the full map of Level 1 of my OSR mega-dungeon over on the blog, along with three more rooms: discountdungeons.blogspot.com/2026/01/leve...
Been distracting myself from the horrors by plugging away at my silly little mega-dungeon. Just published areas 4 through 7. That means I'm about a quarter of the way through the first level, and put in some work refining the layout for the project. discountdungeons.blogspot.com/2026/01/leve...
New year, new OSR project! I'm gonna see if I can make a DCC mega-dungeon this year. I'll be posting rooms & monsters over on a new blog for the project if you want to follow along! discountdungeons.blogspot.com
Ranch Pizza (long story, but the ownership was really exceptionally shitty to their employees after a dangerous incident)
I like to have an even mix of one-session and 2-4 session modules for systems I run
Oh shit, this absolutely slaps!
Less bus service. Less subsidized childcare. Less for working class Oregonians.
I would absolutely watch a “Shining Mobile Suit” series
An FX line along MLK or Chavez would be life changing for my family up in Woodlawn. We get around NE by bike great, but lack good public transit links to SE!
Community supporters, We have news: We are much closer to a first contract, an end to the boycott, and substantially better working conditions. We have overwhelmingly voted to authorize an open-ended strike ahead of Christmas if our Employer chooses not to meet our demands. We've given the company until December 4th for an acceptable offer and have let them know we plan to strike starting December 17th if we do not have an agreement. To support our potential strike, build worker power, and help ensure that no worker has to return to work due to lack of funds, please donate at nslu.org/donate.
new seasons strike authorized for next month. can donate to the strike fund here: www.nslu.org/donate
I know Woodlawn is starting the process of applying for an new plaza, we’ll see how it goes
Oh wow, fantastic repair! One of my favorite kits, so cool to see one restored!
Dan Ryan voting to gut parks dept funding, and now calling for them to “maximize earned revenue” is a call for working class families, especially those with young children, to shoulder the cost of our parks. That’s not just bad for Portland’s future, it’s indistinguishable from GOP policy!
we need the fx75 and the fx6 and we need them now
Ryan says he needs "real institutional change" from the Parks department before giving them more funds.
YOU WERE LITERALLY THE PARKS COMMISSIONER. YOU MADE THIS MESS. YOU COULD HAVE MADE THOSE CHANGES.
Very funny to have read this minutes before getting my copy of the North Peninsula Review where he’s quoted saying he DOESN’T oppose the levy. What an exhausting man
He also voted against the ultimately successful proposal to shift $2m toward parks maintenance last budget, so I think he actually just doesn’t doesn’t give a shit about parks
Is it too far from the next district 2 election to organize a “Don’t Rank Ryan” advocacy group?
