The Peaky Blinders movie doesn’t make a great case for its existence – review This swan song for Cillian Murphy’s flat capped antihero – which introduces Barry Keoghan as his illegitimate son – is cool, bombastic and formulaic. Why fix something that’s not broken?

there’s not much PEAKY BLINDERS: THE IMMORTAL MAN actually does to bridge the gap between season six and the upcoming sequel series, but sometimes i do think its ok to just stop for a moment and appreciate cillian murphy

Maggie Gyllenhaal’s The Bride! isn’t as feminist as it thinks it is – review The ‘Hamnet’ star reunites with her ‘Lost Daughter’ director on this playful and imaginative yet somewhat baffling experiment

i love a feral jessie buckley but there’s not all that much THE BRIDE! has to say but AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

(also mary shelley get behind me, i will not let them disrespect you like this)

The new Scrubs is determined to pretend that it’s still 2007 Old faces, old rhythms, new interns: the Scrubs comeback sticks close to its early-2000s formula, for better and worse.

Amanda Seyfried is (maybe) the second coming of Christ in this sublime film – review This thrillingly iconoclastic musical – from the makers of ‘The Brutalist’ – tells the story of the leading prophet of the 18th-century Shaker movement, who preached celibacy, rejected conformity and ...

i have THE TESTAMENT OF ANN LEE fever. beautiful, brilliant, iconoclastic. do not talk to me unless it’s about what our mother ann lee has done

The Oscar-nominated If I Had Legs I’d Kick You is a sublime endurance test – review Writer-director Mary Bronstein pushes her camera further and further onto Byrne’s face until it practically feels like we’re sitting in her eyeballs

what rose byrne is doing in IF I HAD LEGS I’D KICK YOU is less acting more self-administered open heart surgery. absolutely deserved the oscar nomination

for clarity im talking about posts like this… thousands of likes, directed at someone who has already suffered quite extreme physical violence bc of his condition

25.02.2026 15:28 👍 6 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

and yet it’s people like jhónelle, the ones who understand the exact nature of the pain inflicted on both communities (and it is both), who are being dismissed and attacked from all sides. so many of them have had to back away. i’m glad at least slate published this piece & i hope people read it

tbh it’s been v hard watching the treatment Black people w/ tourette syndrome & other neurological conditions have received online. disabled people are being used by racists as a weapon to attack Black people with, while i’ve seen the same calls for violence against davidson mentioned in the piece

well it actually does matter quite a bit bc this kind of misinformation only harms the people who suffer from it more. your personal experience may be one thing, but it does not override medical fact.

i obviously & repeatedly have. the “that” position you are referring to is barring a human being from public life. i don’t think it’s asking the world that people maybe don’t immediately jump to this being the only solution to keep people safe

Apparently they had enough time to censor this though

it’s an extremely complicated matter bc disability IS complicated. but why did you feel so comfortable writing something as dehumanising as “sequester him in another room”? why is that the only solution for disability in people’s minds?

23.02.2026 02:58 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

no worries. there’s a little more awareness of it in the uk specifically bc of his advocacy. it’s an extremely difficult condition to live with & that form is particularly rare. the whole situation was just horribly handled on bafta & the bbc’s end, it’s very upsetting to see

do you have coprolalia?

23.02.2026 02:31 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

this is completely untrue. he has coprolalia, the tics are unconscious & do not reflect his actual thoughts. the movie he was nominated for is literally about this.

23.02.2026 02:28 👍 6 🔁 0 💬 3 📌 0

you’ll happily celebrate a non-disabled actor pretending to be disabled but this is how you treat actual disabled people? why am i seeing repeated calls to essentially bar him from public life?

23.02.2026 02:12 👍 28 🔁 3 💬 1 📌 0

it’s cruel & humiliating for all parties involved that a video of john davidson’s tic is in the public sphere. the lack of basic accommodation (incl an action plan for when tics occur for *everyone* affected) is a brutal reminder that disabilities are palatable only when they’re not disabling

Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die is the work of a very angry filmmaker – review The director of the original ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ embraces his darker, more idiosyncratic streak with this flawed but intriguingly cranky sci-fi film starring Sam Rockwell

GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN, DON’T DIE is sort of a mess, but also so bleak and mean that it feels genuinely provocative in a way few modern satires dare

Wasteman is a showcase for one of Britain’s most exciting young actors – review Cal McMau’s feature debut doesn’t offer much new to the prison drama genre, but it boasts complexity and grace in the performances of its leading men

everyone needs to get on the david jonsson train asap. watch WASTEMAN to understand why

one more FRANKENSTEIN piece and i swear i’ll stop (… unless? 😏) but i spoke to creature designer mike hill for @CurzonCinemas about his brilliant work & the mighty task of creating an icon anew

How to Get to Heaven from Belfast is a genre-bending delight Netflix’s How to Get to Heaven from Belfast is a bold, funny and surprisingly moving comedy/thriller hybrid from the creator of Derry Girls.

HOW TO GET TO HEAVEN FROM BELFAST has some of the wildest shifts in tone i’ve seen in a while, but ngl it worked
