What a pleasure to meet @trevorthebotanist.bsky.social at yesterday's #BIBCONF25
Trevor's 5 minute presentation on Welsh Groundsel sounded like it would make a fascinating full length presentation at a future conference.

Searching for Juncus capitatus this week we found a patch of Solanum nigrum.
As we moved on a plant caught my eye that from looked like yet another Solanum but turned out to be a first ever sighting for me of Shaggy Soldier, Galinsoga quadriradiata.
So pleased I did a double take

Yesterday's Recorders' Day started out like Sleeping Beauty (1st time taking a hedge trimmer to go recording) - ended up like Waterworld, slopping about a flooded fen all day. Attulus caricis and Baryphyma gowerense (new site record) @angleseyfloragroup.bsky.social @britishspiders.bsky.social
This week Anglesey Flora Group carried out a survey on private land near Rhoscolyn which revealed the muted tones of Field Speedwell, Limonium humile, Greater Sea Spurrey, Field Woundwort, Heath Pearlwort & Wild Thyme.
Also Shrubby Seablite but not close enough for a photo.

On a field trip to a private #Anglesey woodland in May we were privileged to see a wonderful display of Herb Paris, Paris quadrifolia.
I love the way the sunlight illuminates it through the trees.

Plenty of new colours emerging in my local #Anglesey woods atm, & here are a few for this week's #wildflowerhour
I love the pink & white 'pencilled' cranesbill-such a precious find so deep in the woods! I also saw purple cranesbill, yellow iris, briar rose, comfrey & wood avens on today's walk

I was so overwhelmed by the huge variety of grasses in my local Anglesey meadows, that I thought a collage would be the best way to display them (along with some random wild flowers that happened to be there!)
Contrasting colours and textures along the blustery Anglesey lanes for this week's #wildflowerhour
All were quite prolific, with the exception of the selfheal-Prunella vulgaris-which was seen at the bottom of a style along the coastal path!
The delicate harebells were a joy to behold on Brwdd Arthur (Arthur's seat), Anglesey this afternoon

Been out surveying Anglesey dunes this week. Flora very stunted in the heat and drought, such as these tiny Lesser Centaury (Centaurium pulchellum), Common Restharrow (Ononis repens) and Field Gentian (Gentianella campestris) #wildflowerhour
Sea-heath (Frankenia laevis) bringing a splash of colour to the shoreline near Rhosneigr, Anglesey. Really quite rare and threatened, itβs a very lovely little thing #wildflowerhour
For this week's #Wildflowerhour challenge #DaisyFamily here's Common Fleabane accompanied by Water Mint, Purple Loosestrife and a gorgeous blue #Anglesey sky
Rock Samphire covering the cliff edges this week on a tiny bay just off the coastal path #Anglesey

Fabulous day spent with @jaynerooke.bsky.social & @northwaleswt.bsky.social on an animation workshop. I was amazed to learn we have 2nd biggest fen land area in UK on #Anglesey. So important for environment & biodiversity is incredible. We created this little video about Bladderwort π€£β€οΈ
