it's kinda baffling me how different these 2 are; i don't think there's necessarily a big *skill* gap between them, but god does the 2nd one feel a lot more organic and fluid

i can't remember the last time a story left me this emotional, and i will also say that by far ffxiv has the best cast of villains out of everything i've seen

it's also amazing to think that the story remained this well held together considering it was like what, 10 years from ARR to Endwalker? it plays straight like a normal JRPG, but instead of a few weeks to complete it takes like 2 months
