So we’re finding out — at the end of 2025 — that a movie slated to come out in the middle of 2027 has been delayed to…the tail end of the middle of 2027

These things happen, and you can do maths to estimate how much time is needed, but like…that’s a lot of heads up for two months two years out 🤷‍♀️🤣

So I’m not huge on auto-HDR (artist’s intent, blah blah I’m great at parties I swear), but FPS Boost is huge for back compat. In some cases you don’t even sacrifice resolution to go way beyond original specs. (Looking at you, Titanfall 2, you beautiful bastard 💖 4K120 is amazing for that game)

All that to say, I am aware that I’m in a rare (on the internet, at least) category of people that legitimately have zero buyer’s remorse over my XSX. HOWEVER, I am very disappointed in the entire generation from Microsoft and Sony for essentially squeezing as much blood from old rocks as possible

Looking over on the PS side, I saw them kinda doing the same slow transition, which further turned me off from investing in a PS5 after having bought a XSX that was underutilized in part because of that.

Meanwhile, I use my Switch 2 daily since it came out. 🤷‍♀️

The glacial pace of the transition to focused XSX/S development was a hype-killing turnoff, but I still made use of my XSX whenever something was an exclusive or multi-plat, and knew it would be a solid performer in those moments. I don’t use it much, but I actually *don’t* regret buying it at all…

I’m an interesting case study there. I got a Series X at launch as someone that had been big into Xbox since the og unit, and the PS5 is the first PS gen I skipped entirely. With that said, even before I got my XSX, I had already primarily became a Switch user because Splatoon is a hell of a drug…

Honestly this feel important. I look at Xbox and Sony and think “it took way too long for them to make that shift and it held back their current gen offerings from doing their best and most optimized work for many, many years past when it should have”
