🏆 The Golden Idol is an icon, but it wouldn't be the same without its cast of unfortunate victims. 🪦
@andrejsklavins.bsky.social and Emests Klavis explain the importance of the game's characters to the overarching narrative. ✍️

The creatives leads on this investigation were Bill and Dani from www.escapethispodcast.com. Super happy to see how their experimental ideas came to fruition!
There are endless jokes how the culture of my country is sad combination of being an ever oppressed nation with strong love for the early 20th century romanticism.
So I'm super happy for the amazing success of @gintszilbalodis.bsky.social by creating something completely different and beautiful.
But we don't know which one! Super happy anyway.

Is this the new Rise of the Golden Idol DLC?
Thank you, Ernest, for getting us to this point in life!
Started and finished last week this little detective gem:

I didn't like the demo particularly, but the full version where the game actively starts doing it's own thing, left me numerous sweet aha! moments.
'The 50 best video games of 2024' is the clue, but you'll have to investigate the article to find out what number The Rise of the Golden Idol has been rated 🔎🎉

Started playing Tactical @breachwizards.bsky.social this morning and I'm immensely enjoying the writing. I usually hate when games require me to read plot stuff, but here I'm happily consuming every bit of dialogue and want more!
Very inspiring!
Great listen so far and I'm happy you've enjoyed the games. But regarding Bruce Myson in Rise, in Final Clash there's a scene and a puzzle dedicated to it.
Hearing it from a Heart Machine writer is high praise. Thank you!
Ideal way would be visiting our Discord:

And there's a Rise bug report forum.
Yes, that would definitely help. Thank you!
In which language and which version are you playing? PC classic version should be typo free.
That was one of the main reasons we wanted a more modern setting.
Really appreciate you sharing this. It's one of the things I'm super happy about - that we've managed to marry narrative and gameplay so well.
As a SUSD fan, seeing this tweet, made me feel very warm and happy. Glad you enjoyed it!
We were discussing architecture influences in our work chat and Ernest found this early sketch of Newsflash scenario.
This shows pretty well what our early concept tests look like.
3. We wanted players to be able to have a puzzle open alongside a closeup. Especially useful when decoding something.
For those who want first game experience, I suggest decreasing UI scale, opening all windows, positioning them, and then toggling between them with SPACE button.

One of the more contentious Rise changes has been UI.
1. Our main motivation was that single screen puzzles restrict us in what kind of how many we can make per scenario.
2. We wanted players to feel less overwhelmed than in the first game seeing all puzzles at the same time.

Very nice to hear it! I do feel proud!
Appreciate your kind words and very glad you're enjoying it!
Three days ago we launched "The Rise of the Golden Idol", the sequel to our first indie detective game and I feel exhausted physically and mentally.
However this time I'm recovering quicker. Because, the initial results are amazing and it is harder to tell yourself you got lucky twice in a row.
