We knew that T. indotineae was present in Bangladesh from imported cases diagnosed in France, Germany, the United States, ... This article is the first to report locally diagnosed cases.

Publishing on the same day as our article, an Italian series on tinea barbae due to T. mentagrophytes ITS-genotype VII in MSM further highlights the spread of the pathogen.
Beware of these inflammatory facial lesions, often mistaken for bacterial infections.
