Deli or Groceteria for sure.
Deli or Groceteria for sure.
Does this chart include trips removed from the schedule in the undelivered numbers?
Just a reminder that the city of Ottawa is *also* doing this right now.
Interesting that a City of Toronto study found that a City of Toronto midrise built form required by zoning was inappropriate for complying with City of Toronto sustainability standards
One of my coworkers, who is retiring at the end of the month, left work an hour early saying he didnโt want to lose an hour on the weekend so he was springing ahead now. Apparently he has been doing that for years.
3) How can anyone write this piece and not mention renewables? We don't need price controls and subsidies for fossil fuels, we need a national energy transition plan!
1) It's wild how many people just... don't know what a commodity is?
2) Sure would be nice to have a national petroleum company.
I love surface transit!!!!
The more interaction points with cars the better!!!!
Why? Why do we do this song and dance every year? It makes everyone miserable.
Can we please stop using housing as "acoustic buffers". People have to live in these towers...
My hot take is that the battles over TDSB control are basically downstream from the fact that Toronto City Council forced rust belt budget problems on the TDSB by pricing out families with children through their policies.

Objectively, we can absolutely take on more debt if we need to. A lot more. Like 5x more and still be solvent. Our finances are in very good shape, we do not have an excessive amount of debt currently, and if we really need to we still have plenty of wiggle room to increase taxes.
I will never forgive Chretien for privatizing CN.
Wait this is an America 250 scheme ๐คฎ
An American flag on the cab of a Canadien National locomotive in a BC Rail heritage scheme is so vile.
Our tax supported debt servicing ratio is 3.5%. Our self-imposed limit on that ratio is 7.5% but Ontario municipalities are allowed to have a ratio up to 25%. We are not anywhere close to our borrowing limits and we are not paying for operations with debt.
Ottawa is not anywhere near a debt crisis.
I sent the stage2 team an email about this pathway today. Will report back if I hear anything. With the Brisebois development coming, this pathway should absolutely be implemented.

Do you know if the proposed Place D'Orleans MUP from the LRT stage 2 connectivity study was approved and built?
Item D ok the image. There's nothing on Google streetview but the most recent image was 6 months ago.
You haven't been paying very close attention then :)
Cover of a ticket holder from the late 70s. The background is VIA yellow with 4 VIA logos in increasingly bluer colours with a fifth logo, CN in its classic red colour, filling out the final fifth of the cover. It is primarily VIA oriented and includes the colour scheme that would be used for a little over 40 years, but Iโd still primarily adopting the CN design language.
Banger after banger.
Cover of a CN brochure for their Dayniter services from the mid-1960s
Time to resurrect my thread showing off the design culture of CN (Canadian National) during the 1960โs up to the mid-70โs.
Itโs worth noting this is not a retVrn thread or trying to say โlook how much better it was back the โ bc this era had real problems. Itโs just an appreciation of great design
The logical conclusion of this study is that the safest residential building has zero floors and infinite stairwells.
A lot of the immediate surrounding area is not great for walking and biking, but! Champlain St bridge and St Joseph are both slated for AT improvements and the walk to the LRT station is ~80% indoors.
Seems like a fine starting point and a good springboard to push the city for more improvement
I think this is the last straw for The Ottawa Lookout. It's not the first time they've written a story highlighting the overblown and irrational fears of 'established community members' without bothering to even get a quote from people in favour.
God forbid the city do something that is popular with people.
