Little girl on this train just asked her brother an outstanding question - ‘Would you rather have a dog as flat as a pancake, or a dog as round as a ball?’
Post Danae Hudlow @danae hudlow Follow 6 I need men to understand: at some point in every conservative gal's life, she will have the experience of sitting and listening to the men around her --men who are her friends -- discuss, in a detached way, whether or not her kind of people (women) should have the right to vote. 9:45 PM Feb 18, 2026494.8K Views
Sounds rough! I avoid this ever happening to me with One Weird Trick
Disturbingly detailed analysis of my first rewatch incoming
I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.
i asked my brother what the dubai chewy cookie tasted like and his response was that the lines were just too long for him to want to try it. then the next day he was like "ok i had the gimbap version and it was fine" sorry excuse me? the what version? why?
Trump to Kaitlan Collins after she pressed him on getting justice for Epstein survivors:
"No wonder CNN has no ratings because of people like you. You know, she‘s a young woman. I don‘t think I‘ve ever seen you smile. I‘ve known you for 10 years. I don‘t think I‘ve ever seen a smile in your face."
There are 3,800 kids in ICE custody.
I really truly would pay extra for appliances that don’t sing.
They’re leaving money on the table here.
Okay everybody! Please help me with this! Universities everywhere are increasingly awful, so let's put together some New Year's Resolutions to help them get better! I'll start!
1) Stand up for the importance of good education for good lives for people, society, and planet.
I tell you what, that Santa Claus has got real presence about him
So you should really watch this. Just 2 minutes. But a window into the truly radical nature of the people Trump is nominating.
When pressed today, the nominee to be Ambassador to South Africa refuses to oppose reinstituting laws to prevent black people from voting in America.
Been doing this for years and not a single headline
The outside of the Centraal Museum Utrecht. It is a red/brown stone building.
One of the pieces from the museum. It is called The Newcomers. It is by Jan van de Pavert. It is a painting with many diverse people in it. It is the first thing you see when you walk into the main exhibition hall. It really moved me. The Newcomers are welcome, embraced by the city.
A 'livingroom' style setup can be seen with people sitting on chairs and art surrounding them. The art in the room belongs to a brother sister duo. I loved it so much. All of it was so accessible.
I went to the museum to see the installation 'Disappear' about grief. There is an emptiness about the room, but it was filled with music and then my emotions and tears. It was simple and oh so moving.
I visited the Centraal Museum Utrecht today. I've been to the Museum before but had never seen the permanent exhibition. The permanent exhibition is large. I'm glad I got the opportunity to see it. I was there to see the 'Disappear' installation on grief, which was simple yet so moving.

I don't think I have ever seen the escalator going to Utrecht Centraal from the Smakelaarskade side of the station work. So imagine my surprise today when I walked around the corner and it was clean and in working order 😂
Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd. A grand summer house from the 1700s.
A scene of the grounds at Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd. The photo is taken from inside the house looking out.
Wallpaper from the 1700s inside the house. It still looks really good.
Yesterday's 'museum' visit was Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd in Bunnik (a few kilometres from the Utrecht city centre). The house from the 1700s is well preserved and the guides generous with their time and knowledge. We ate great food, bought fresh farm goodies and enjoyed the surrounds.

Old skool groceries from the Kruideniers Museum.
Exhibits from the Kruideniers Museum.
I also made a stop at the Kruideniers Museum. The museum shows the history of groceries from the old grocer to today's supermarkets. It is cute, free and really well done. I wanted to buy some of the treats they have in the shop but didn't for some reason, so I'll have to go back 😁.

A sign as you enter the courtyard for the Utrecht Archive that says 'Het Utrechts Archief' (The Utrecht Archive)
The permanent collection shows different facets of Utrecht. Here you see that Utrecht is a cycling city.

The permanent collection shows different facets of Utrecht. Here you see that Utrecht is a city that connects. It has the busiest train station in The Netherlands.
After my visit to the Volksbuurt museum I was curious to learn more about the history of Utrecht. So I visited the Utrecht Archive today. They had an exhibition on how Utrecht has been governed over 650 years. Also, the permanent collection really captures the city and is very interactive.

The reception house for the Rietveld Schröder House. The reception is a dark brick house, next to it on the right is the Rietveld Schröder House.
A view of the Rietveld Schröder House. The house was designed in 1924. It looked out of place then, but was far ahead of its time.

The kitchen in the Rietveld Schröder House.
Today's museum visit was the Rietveld Schröderhuis in Utrecht. An impressive piece of minimalist architecture, designed in 1924. The house was ahead of it's time and stands out from the dark brick homes around it.
Well worth a visit.

Royal Delft makers - past and present.
Display cabinet with Royal Delft pottery.
Rembrandt's Nightwatch, Delft pottery style.
Miffy fridge magnet from the Royal Delft Museum gift shop.
Finally visited the Royal Delft Museum today. I learned that it takes 10 years to achieve master painter level and wow it is evident throughout the exhibition. I love how the makers of these handcrafted marvels get their chance to shine.

Part of the "In the name of love' exhibition.
Museum Catharijneconvent in Utrecht was today's visit. The two courtyards on the property are beautiful. The temporary exhibition 'In the name of love' was moving in places. The permanent collection was not really my thing, but impressive. Will return to just sit in the courtyard.

My quest to use my Museum Card more continues... with a visit to the Spoorweg (Railway) Museum in Utrecht. I heard a lot of choo choos and delightful squeals and roleplays were aplenty. Trains just bring joy to all ages.

A flowchart entitled “should you explain the thing to the lady”. The first text box reads “are you an expert or at least well informed”. If the answer is no the corresponding text box says “shh”. If answer is yes the flow chart proceeds to the next text box which reads “did she ask? “. If the answer is yes the corresponding text box says “go ahead”. It’s the answer is no the flow chart proceeds to the next text box reads “are you her tutor, teacher or other for her education?“. If the answer is no, the corresponding text box says “stop talking”. If the answer is yes, the flow chart proceeds to the next text box, “Does she already know what you’re about to say“. If the answer is no the corresponding text box says “explain away” if the answer is “I don’t know” the corresponding text box says “ask” if the answer is yes to “does she already know what you’re about to say” the corresponding text box reads “be quiet“

For those interested in 'automated' musical instruments, Museum Speelklok in Utrecht is worth a visit. It is a three out of five stars. Maybe four stars because they had some 'wind up' doll instruments that are racially sensitive, but instead of shying away from it they noted it and asked for input.
The outside of the Volksbuurt Museum (Neighbourhood Museum) in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
A room in the Volksbuurt Museum depicting an old school room.
A depiction of a store in the Volksbuurt Museum.
A scene depicting an old working class home in the Volksbuurt Museum.
Today I visited an underrated museum in Utrecht. The Volksbuurt Museum (Neighbourhood Museum). It tells the story of Wijk C, an old working class neighbourhood in Utrecht, but it actually placed the entire city into context for me. It is a love letter to Utrecht.

Philosophy is structurally unable to acknowledge that "I dunno, man, maybe?" is objectively speaking the correct answer to most of our questions.
