Hana no Maude

Semi automated “single player MMO” combat where characters have DPS/support/tank roles and abilities you manage on cooldowns and unlock in skill trees to equip. Two opposing worlds with clashing ppls but more to the tale… 👀 big difference is level design but similar DNA in spots!

Bc of the similar release timeframe and not super intuitive mechanics but still similar ish gameplay and narrative elements, I’ve actually been mentally comparing this experience to Xenoblade a lot 🧐

I have XIII-2! I got a double pack as a gift for the PC re-release and I want to see the whole trilogy eventually. Just won’t do back to back so I don’t burn out on it

I will likely look up guides/recs for equipment before upgrading now that the game is gonna start to open up!

Not worried about trophies bc I’m playing PC via steam deck and while I like trophies, as a mostly console gamer I don’t have that same attachment to Steam achievements tbh

I see the greyed out battle party option and have been awaiting its liberation 🙂‍↕️

I’ve definitely leaned into aggression after a trash mob randomly wipes me but that’s mostly just my natural response in most games 😅 I tend to be a glass DPS cannon whenever possible

Audio issues or just not a likable?

Good to know, I noticed switching was making Sentinel kinda less useful without thinking to switch roles for the other members (or up til now mostly for me, member singular) while leaving the tank a tank 😅

don't know how to manage/optimize is equipment. I'm lucky if I've scratched together 4K gil in 16hrs (not selling anything either) so I've not bought anything & have no sense of what weapons to upgrade

I'm so resource limited, I hesitate to waste & spec into a weapon that's not worth it

started to spike here in ch 9 with trees expanding more)

I've got a good sense for staggering & buff/debuff, the one role I really don't have a good sense of how to use effectively is Sentinel, esp since Sentinel & even Saboteur/Strategist abilities have been so few up to now

One nagging thing I-

Was in a work meeting so slow to respond, but THANK YOU for taking the time to write out all the tips! Some of it is stuff I'd started to notice (like ATB recharge on paradigm shift) & some I'm just now getting into (like til now, it was easy to max out Crystarium for everyone but CP cost just-

Physical exercise is one the best, most underrated tools for improving mental health. Especially walking. I hope it helps 🫂

I actually prefer linear games vs open worlds. My issues here tho are how the design undermines itself. Ex: “hallway sim” in a game that rewards… makes it hard to get behind enemies that are always directly ahead staring at you. Those sorts of mismatched concepts have me like 🤨
