A PRAYER FOR THE CONFIRMATION OF ELECTION OF THE ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY Almighty God, you call your Church in every age to proclaim the Gospel of Christ: look with mercy upon your servant Sarah, and grant that, as deacon, she may care for those in need, as priest, sustain us with the ministry of word and sacrament, and as bishop, guard the faith and build up the body of Christ in holiness. Give her wisdom and kindness that as archbishop, she may promote unity, seek truth, and lead us in the way of righteousness and peace; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Join us in prayer today, on the Confirmation of Election of the Archbishop of Canterbury. π

Thank you to all the clergy, lay ministers, churchwardens, musicians, welcomes, polishers and arrangers who have prepared a Christmas welcome across the 658 churches of @diocese ofnorwich.bsky.social - time now for a glass of fizz!
To the most wonderful carol service in the cow barn at Thornage Hall - which provides supported living, learning and working for adults with learning disabilities.
Prayers ascend for all impacted by the appalling and horrific attacks in Australia. Hanukkah commemorates the resilience and hope of the Jewish people, and the miracle of light enduring in dark times. These moments call for solidarity, peace, and standing together against hate in all it forms.
Jesus Christ is always at the centre of Christmas. And everyone's invited to experience it with us.
Come and celebrate Christmas at a church near you.

Very concerned to hear of the large fire at St John's Church, Harleston. Prayers that no one is injured and for the emergency services tackling the blaze.
Today I sat through some excellent speeches in the House of Lords. The clear message was that the βAssisted Dyingβ Bill needs much more scrutiny. The expertise in the House is immense. Deep concerns were raised by doctors, nurses, lawyers, and those of us experienced in pastoral care of the dying.

Warm summer days π€ Warm parish welcomes
The latest summer heatwave of 2025 has not slowed down the process of licensing new priests across Norfolk and Waveney!
Of late, these have included Bishops Graham and Ian welcoming clergy in Hemsby and Lound, Thorpe End and Stalham and Smallburgh.
The smiling faces of a couple unexpectedly married by a bishop!
Congratulations to Adam and Nina, married by the Bishop of Thetford who stepped in to officiate at short notice.
βFantastic couple and a privilege for meβ¦. I donβt get the chance to take many weddings.β
