Contraception, fertility support, safe abortion, menopause services, mental health care, preventative checkups & other essential care are still out of reach for too many women. Visual shows illustration of a woman receiving health care from a doctor.
Women deserve better.
They need:
- Affordable and safe health services.
- Rights-based options for reproductive health.
- Care that meets her unique needs.
Letβs close the gapβact now.

there's so much bad in the world but there's also people who lift up and carry an elderly bat around every day so he can pretend he's flying again, and that's the part of the world I think is worth fighting for
Some generalised lessons from stepping out of survival mode. Embodied insights from my month away.
Iranβs people were facing a horrible shortage of water before the war began. If we are destroying desalination plants and setting fire to Teheran we are committing unfathomable crimes.
Today should be your 38th birthday.. When you lose your son you lose more than a child you lose a piece of your heart and your joy. Life is forever altered, and nothing can ever fill that space. Yet in my soul, he remains, my precious boy, forever loved. His laughter, his smile, and his love are woven into who I am. My love for him will never fade. Yor are my pride and my joy - you've made a change that cannot be broken..
Alex's mom on his 38th birthday.
Wow.
This is a vivid, horribly relevant read. βShe does not sleep well. And as you lift up her pajama top to check her rash one morning, you see that her breathing is labored, shadows pooling between her ribs when she sucks in air. You suffer an icy moment of realization: This is a medical crisis.β
This week marks a year since 10% of the CDC work force was fired. We are more vulnerable to the next pandemic, outbreak monitoring is crumbling, measles is basically endemic again, vaccine guidelines are now RFK Jr fan fiction.
All it took was one year.
Five years after the rollout of Covid-19 vaccines started, it seems the mystery of why the Astra-Zeneca and J&J vaccines led to a rare but deadly side effect of unusual blood clots and bleeding has finally been solved. β¨
It's a fascinating case of molecular mimicry that may help make vaccine safer.π§ͺ
1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.
Hundreds of kids are still detained.
Weβll let the childrenβs words speak for themselves. π§΅
Around the world, politicians and businessmen are resigning from their positions because of the Epstein Files.
Except in the United States.
Here: Zero shame, zero consequences.
We need resignations, investigations, impeachments, and punishments now. Should have been years ago.
A lot of the stuff Iβve been writing about recently is about modelling better behaviours and holding myself to account.
This isnβt entirely how I work. Itβs how I WANT to work.
Burnout and disengagement arenβt individual failures. Theyβre signals of systems under strain.
When effort replaces capacity and responsibility is pushed down without authority, people adapt. Some burn out. Others disengage.
Until conditions change, transformation only reproduces the same risks.

The Trump admin has shut down the CIAβs World Factbook, a country reference that for six decades has provided data on birth and death rates, major exports, and more. Long used by government officials and by researchers, educators, and journalists, the database was taken offline today.

OPM quietly revised its Jan 2026 shutdown guidance. The new text backs away from guaranteed back pay for furloughed feds -- even though a 2019 law already guarantees it. The statute didnβt change; the guidance did. π

We're already at 1/5 of the measles cases we saw last year, and it's only been three weeks
Incredible. The people of Minnesota are inspiring a nation.
The most important public health story in America right now is that the Trump administration is kidnapping 2-year olds
This whole article is just flabbergasting. Here for instance, he's either forgotten about the massive measles epidemic 1989-1991 or is ignoring it. How different do you think our treatment is today? (Not that much!)
I've talked to people on the ground about the strike here tomorrow, and the single thing everyone brings up is just how shockingly wide the support for the strike is. Businesses that no one would have expected to support it are doing so.
βOn Thursday, Quinhin Nantote, Guinea-Bissauβs minister of public health, said the study had not received proper ethical approval, and his office has suspended itβ¦ βWe have no evidence of any meeting they held, we donβt even have minutes of a negotiated approval,β he said.β
