HEY π
so secretly we've been working with a cabal of indie devs making the type of strange & distinctive games that we love to play on noclip_2.
tomorrow we're announcing a SHOWCASE on noclip_2 as part of an upcoming Steam Festival about these games.
it's gonna be fun.
we hope you tune in.
Same here. Legion and TBC are my favorites.
Shout out to The Burning Crusade!
You know...that's not a bad idea...
Btw, your Haranir looks great! I just unlocked them tonight.

One of my favorite King books.
"Xbox, like a lot of businesses that arenβt the core AI business, is being sunsetted. They donβt say that, but thatβs whatβs happening. I expect that the new CEO, Asha Sharma, her job is going to be as a palliative care doctor who slides Xbox gently into the night."

Very cool.
In incredible news, the European Parliament has voted overwhelmingly for "The Full Recognition Of Trans Women As Women."
Even the center-right European People's Party voted for the declaration.
It will form a foundation for their position at the UN Commission on the Status of Women.

Never forget that gen AI delayed the Steam Machine.
A screenshot from Mass Effect 1 that shows a female Commander Shepard in the foreground with their back towards the camera. Shephard is standing on a planet's moon, looking out over said planet, which is in the background. The planet is blue and green, like Earth, but a thin red line can also be seen across the horizon line. The dark, starry sky can be seen behind the planet.
A screenshot from Mass Effect 1 that shows the Mako, an all-terrain vehicle with six wheels and roof-mounted weaponry, on an alien planet. The Mako is in the foreground, standing on rocky terrain. The background features a partly cloudy sky with blue and purple colors. Sunlight is coming through the center of the image, illuminating the sky and reflecting light off the Mako.
A screenshot from Mass Effect 1 that shows a female Commander Shepard standing in front of a bunch of rubble. Fire and smoke can be seen in the background.
A screenshot from Mass Effect 1 that shows a female Commander Shepard standing in the foreground, facing the camera, with an overlook view of Earth and a space station in the background. The POV is from outer space, likely on a ship or space station, looking out over Earth below.
Mass Effect 1 (first time!)
As many people can attest, the story carried this game for me. The gameplay was serviceable, at best, most of the time. I expected more QoL from the "Legendary" version; terrible menus and unengaging combat, to name a couple.
Planning to finish the trilogy. π«‘
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
I can't say much about E33 that hasn't been said already. Its gripping narrative, fleshed out characters, and engaging combat were standout elements.
Biggest negative: UI = cumbersome to alter a character's build.
Hope to return to the side quests one day. π
Games I finished in 2026. π§΅π

Five-year-old me: Oooh, that Batman cartoon! What adventures will he go on today?
*the villain is left in tears, unable to process their fears and obsessions. And Batman, a looming presence born of the inability to rationalize terror, is the only one there to comfort them*
Me: Oh. Huh.
Try a couple decades of shitty emails ranging from simple insults all the way up to death threats from idiot fanboys who can't handle you giving a game "only" 8/10 and see which one puts more calluses on your soul, dummy. You'd fold in six months or less.
i wrote a freelance piece for an outlet outside of games a couple of years ago and the editor reached out and said "luke your writing is so defensive, why are you couching and qualifying every single thought you have" and i had to say "i worked at kotaku for 17 years, have you seen the internet"
Yikes! Stay safe.
