ok so my usb dvd burner doesn't seem like it wants to work anymore so now i have to see if i can use qemu to install xp and gentoo to a real compactflash card (along with some ISOs and other files) to then put that into the windows xp laptop to then write some more discs .w.

i have this old toshiba tecra m2 laptop, hoping i can power it up with a 15V DC adapter i got.
if it works, i'm gonna see if i can get a new battery for it somehow, repaste it, see if i can boot one of the many old linux DVDs i have from magazines, perhaps put a 50p 2GB stick of ram in it, etc.
