Using black fire with slight purple accents solves the problem mentioned earlier.
This is enough to make it clear that heβs not using βfireβ in the move, while adding even more sauce. (6/7)
Subtlety is key: knowing which elements to emphasize versus which ones not to adds a lot to an effect.
Specifically here, reducing the transparency of the wind particles and distortion, while increasing the intensity of the βfireβ and the sound break, gives more cohesion to the effect. (5/7)
This makes doing the VFX somewhat more difficult, but challenges are how you learn.

I donβt want any of his attacks to have βmagicβ or elemental associations.
Ego does have fire, yes, but the purple fire represents the soul in Death to Heaven, and it is only that, a visual representation visible to specific beings. (3/7)
As a general rule, Iβm going to use a distinct visual effects style for each of Egoβs weapons: Rotten Gospel, Rusty Bastard, Sofia, XXXX XXXXXX, and XXXXXXXXXXX.
Without a doubt, the one giving me the most trouble is Rotten Gospel (Hand to hand). (2/7)

-You need to increse the 100MB limit on uploaded videos, its embarrasing how I have to render an entirely different video just for YOUR platform.
