Very excited that our article on the governing of science is now published in Minerva (OA)! We’re reflecting on the politics of research evaluation (i.a. metrics) and argue for a global research approach accounting for transnational and discursive dynamics.

The enlarges the post-, decolonial and southern critiques of knowledge production through an empirical study which is informed by works in the sociology of science and STS and thereby aims to further the debate on global science studies.
Based on a study of Anglo-Caribbean social scientists' daily work practices, I inquired the ways in which colonial legacies and global inequalities are engaged with by scholars in their multiple work activities.

really important piece on how metrics can be used as instruments of repression & undermine academic freedom, intellectual diversity, and public responsibility!
However, I would argue that they are also controlling in democractic settings and no see systems as a binary distinction.
