Erich's one of those very affectionate drunks who wobbles on that tightrope between happy drunk and sad drunk and Themis just plays along with it while focusing on The Goal of getting him home safe.

themis at a party tearing his hair out over the rubbermaid tote of jungle juice because it is the least balanced thing he has ever seen in his life. the balance is NOT being maintained between the ratio of all these liquids.

I think Erich would be the Guy With The Guitar Singing Wonderwall. He has those vibes to me.

From an astrological perspective, I'd say he's Mars. He's a fiery and assertive go getter to the point of aggression, but more importantly one of his themes is seeking positive masculinity and moving away from toxic masculinity.

From an astronomical perspective I think Yves would be a Type-O blue star. He shines hot and bright to the point that he threatens his own existence. One day he'll go out with a bang that will ripple through the universe (ideally)

Yves and Lyre are both two men who grew up in scenarios where their primary goal was survival. Yves saw that in being Ishgardian underclass. Lyre did by being thrown into the woods as an adolescent.

Together they explore how nothing about humanity is innate and that being human is a choice.

I think it'd be funny if an Ishgardian who was intolerant of outsiders used allusions to orthodoxy that sound nice on paper but if you know the context within the Enchiridion were very not nice.

That said, this is about cultural ideals! There are plenty of people who probably find ways to sneak around it. I think there would be a lot of saying something that seems direct but implies something else based on dual meanings or context.

This might be a smaller reason why so many Ishgardians think Emmanellain is so offputting and why he's better suited to Ul'dah. He's very good at the kind of flowery speech and playful foppishness that I think most Ishgardians would look down on.
