Interested in hiking, cycling, photography. Like the concept of Yutori ゆとりConsciously slowing down to allow us to savour the world around us with no goal except to see and be. Spaciousness.

What's Left of the Picts? Scotland's Pictish Stones - Historic Environment Scotland Blog Pictish stones can be found all over Scotland, but what are they, who carved them, and why? We take a look at some of the research.

Scotland’s Pictish carved stones, dating from the first millennium CE, display a number of symbols of unknown meaning. Some symbols show animals, some are abstract/geometric, but the same designs can be found from Shetland to the Borders

Thrilled to be part of this exhibition at @themerl.bsky.social which has been curated by @olliedouglas.bsky.social. Two of my paintings are part of this gallery trail. Make sure to find time for a visit over the next few months. It's going to be fantastic.

I asked our local town council what they could do about safe and secure eBike parking & charging. “No one wants to park in the car park [where they have eV charging bays] & people can just take their bike batteries into a pub or cafe & charge them up” 🤬🙇🏼

Daughter cycling through filters in the LTN

Daughter cycling through filters in the LTN

Here’s what I’ve learnt about cycling in a city with an 8 year old. For a start, many kids prefer to cycle than other ways of travelling.

It gives them freedom and autonomy. And yes, even in the rain. Recently my daughter was offered a lift when it was hammering … 1/10

Also, if you borrow an author's book from a library in the UK, that author gets more than 12 pence per loan in Public Lending Rights. Any author can earn up to £6,600 per year this way.

Last year I dedicated six months to only shooting and editing for my UV floral series. Just one long flow state. I highly recommend the experience for anyone creative.

If you can't swing that kind of time, just keep in mind what sick days are really for: making art.

Someone told me lately "Bluesky is just like Twitter." I argued that was untrue on the basis that last time I had a Twitter account most times I got a new follower their bio said "single & looking for fun" & here when I get a new follower it tends to say something like "professor of rare moths".
