I’m calling on Voldemort to investigate Voldemort’s treatment of Harry Potter.
Come on, my Democrats. You may as well say that you’re gonna tell the teacher. Or call your mom.
Grow a goddamn pair, please. Stand for something, please. You can’t get the easy stuff right.
Just abolish ICE.
I want students to learn content, but also wisdom, empathy, &humility, to write from the heart, mind and soul. I want them to learn to move people, and to matter.
That’s why.
I would urge my school to promote itself as the alternative to what’s offered by our soulless corporate AI overlords.
Don’t get too excited about Trump shitcanning Noem. She’s a pawn. The same SOBs are in charge.

Since the pandemic, we’ve been able to bring in over a million dollars to fund fellowships for undergraduate students to work in historians’ offices across NYS. It’s a labor of love. I wish I could do this work full time.
Everything just became more stupid. And yet nothing has changed at the top. Nothing is better. One idiot replaced by another.
Not gonna share the video of Republican US Senator Tim Sheehy breaking a protesting Marine's hand, but you can find it on @charlotteclymer.bsky.social's timeline.
I'll just say that in a functional country, Sheehy would be expelled by the Senate.
Democratic Senators should publicly push for that.
I could write “Fuck Grammarly” in the margins of every paper I mark, but as my friends and former students would point out, nobody can read my handwriting anyways.

I’ve heard more than once that business professors are using AI to write assignments, which students use AI to answer, submitting “work” that the professor grades using…AI.
Hats off to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. I hope they are able to take this project into the soldiers’ communities to listen, learn and share.
This is good work for an under-studied period in Native American History. Congratulations.

I wouldn’t want to watch an AI video of my mom, who died back in September.
I did read through letters she wrote and scrapbooks she kept and genealogy she compiled and some of the books she kept
On the shelves in her office and found great comfort.
I wish you peace in your mourning.
Their leaders rape teens and blast the shit out of elementary schools in Iran and do nothing when sociopaths shoot up schools at home. Your Republican Party.
And Democrats, meanwhile, consistently fold before the cards are dealt.
Thanks for the shout-out
Iran started this war in the same way that Mexico began the Mexican War.
The last time I had former military people in my classes we read Thucydides, Sophocles, Plato, Cicero, More, Dante, Augustine and…the Bible.
Don’t expect validation from colleagues and administrators. Or support or encouragement. Build a network of friends and colleagues who share your interests—I know, that’s hard with a big teaching load—but you deserve respect and you may need to look beyond your campus for that.
I am so angry at Hegseth right now.
I keep in my files the searing essay one quiet Iraq war veteran wrote in his final essay, a reflection on the readings in our “great books” class, that taught me so much about how to read Thucydides, the Gospels, and Augustine’s I have learned so much from my veteran students.
I’ve been teaching for over 30 years. Never at a school with grad programs, but I’ve had many former military in my courses. EVERY FACULTY MEMBER I’ve ever met has done nothing but express the greatest respect for the work ethic and hard-won wisdom of soldiers.
So, yeah, fuck Hegseth. Fuck ‘em all
I thought of you as I wrote that. Maybe you could take charge.
If the best that Maine Democrats can do is debate whether to support a fossil or a Nazi, maybe it’s time for the party’s supporters to look somewhere else.
I think this is the case in general for liberal arts and Humanities programs, all of which can expect to come under attack soon. Students in all the -studies fields learn to read, write, analyze and construct an argument, and are far more career-ready than, say, business majors who know not much.
You measure the justice of a society by how it treats its weakest minority. Kansas, where politicians are quick to cite the Bible, seems to have forgotten the prophet’s call to “seek justice, correct oppression,” as the only divine law worth following.

Buffalo Police and Buffalo DHS have murdered a man. That it was not on video like Renee Good or Alex Pretti does not make it less of a murder

Absolutely infuriating.
Abolish ICE

The government could easily make public higher ed. free for all students.
It’s simply a choice. Don’t believe there is nothing they can do about it. Government doesn’t do this either because it does not want
To or because the people we elected are too devoid of imagination to fix a real problem
He wants the Congressional Medal of Honor in the same way that Bug Eyes Patel wanted that gold medal and Gollum wanted that ring.
I support and understand her anger.
I am disgusted by the Democrats who sat on their hands and said nothing while that child-rapist president spewed his vile, anti-immigrant hatred.
