Foes of new Missouri congressional map say they have signatures for a November vote People Not Politicians officials say the finding should resolve any doubt that the new map aimed at ousting Democratic Rep. Emanuel Cleaver should not be in effect.

As a reminder why this matters:

If the 2022 map is in effect, @cleaver.house.gov wins re-election. And the Trump-led redistricting efforts in MO pretty much failed.

If the 2025 map is in effect, Cleaver will be the underdog for re-election.

Vote on the map would occur in November 2026.

The group that's trying to place the new map up for a statewide vote did open records requests of state/local officials. And the group says they easily have enough signatures.

That, they say, should mean the new map shouldn't be in effect.
