In the future, can we please get the ability to lock our accounts, too many spammers and bots trying to follow, getting insane to have to keep blocking them all the time
For those interested I would also recommend the documentary Das Wir the DDR, which was made right after reunification, so a ton of first-hand accounts etc from all of the big players in government and ordinary citizens. There is an English dubbed version available on YouTube with subtitles

Also, the “anti-fascist state” line “We have no nazis.” and seeing it as the final stage of capitalism. Also, if i remember correctly, there was a substantial black market for Nazi artifacts in the DDR as well.
More context. The DDR had more of a victim mentality towards the Nazis after the war and never did the whole scale clear out and atonement. During the collapse in the 80s and after, there was a big resurgent in neo nazi activity. In the early 90s there were riots targeting asylum and foreign workers
It makes sense to me because, after the end of the DDR and during, there were huge problems with a rise in neo nazis, they never really obliterated. It was more of a victim mentality and not atoning and cleaning house.
It makes sense for the AfD to take the entire former DDR. They never cleared out the ex nazis there wholly.
