Why not show your love for SCIENCE this Valentine's Day and donate to my fundraiser for @braintumourrsch.bsky.social? I'm averaging just under 12k steps at day and hoping the rain stays away for the second half of the month so Marvin and I don't have to keep donning the waterproofs.

Less Survivable Cancers receive just 19% of research funding despite causing 40% of all cancer deaths. This glaring inequality is why we're calling for government to #CloseTheResearchGap. @lesssurvivable.bsky.social

The way tissue is stored post-surgery has a critical impact on the ability to do this because there is a real risk that powerful information is lost, closing down pathways to clinical trials and innovative treatments.

'I've got rare brain tumour aged 20 but there's no way I'm giving up'
Joscelyne Kerr received the devastating news after her friends noticed that one of her pupils was dilated.
In December 2023, 19-year-old Joscelyne was diagnosed with a very rare brain tumour and given a prognosis of just 12 to 18 months. Determined not to let it define her, she joined a drug trial and has continued to live by her motto: go big or go home. π
