I find it a little unfair, honestly, that I didnβt get to call Trump a pedo protector to his face. That shouldβve been me.

Canadians travellers are resisting the U.S. Can ski vacations entice them back? | CBC News
American ski towns bracing for a steep decline in Canadian tourism are still hoping they can coax their northern neighbours back this holiday season.Β Ultimately, the decision to travel south might hin...
This CBC article reads like a tourism brochure for the US travel industry. Not one mention of the boycott.
The article says that if you travel to Montana you can buy one beer and get one free.

For over 130 years, Canadians either loved or hated Cherry Blossoms.
Considered a staple of the Christmas season, these candies were often found in stockings.
In January 2025, it was announced Cherry Blossoms were being discontinued.
This is their history.

Today, we remember women hurt or killed by cowardly violence and stand with survivors and their loved ones.
As the 16 Days of Activism begins, we recommit to preventing violence, strengthening supports, and doing the work so every woman in our province feels safe.

Bree's story is featured at the top of the Apple Podcast app this week. It still boggles my mind that a podcast created under my stairs in Port Alberni rubs shoulders with the New Yorker & the CBC. π

Dick Patrick: An Indigenous veteranβs fight for inclusion | CMHR
Patrick was awarded the Military Medal for bravery in the Second World War, but back in British Columbia he was refused restaurant service because he was Indigenous. That didn't stop him.
πPrime Minister, also. Read about Dick Patrick's story. The guy got a medal from the King for his bravery, but couldn't order a sandwich in a diner when he came home. He kept going back. And was jailed 11 times. I love his spirit. Thought you might too. humanrights.ca/story/dick-p...

I produced a late-night CBC TV show. We'd invited the kids of politicians to join us. Ben Mulroney, Justin Trudeau & Catherine Clarke were all in. Until we invited Stockwell Day's son. Then they cancelled. Catherine accidentally cc'd me on an email with an icky thread between them. Smug indeed.

Everyone who has been angered by horrific images of starvation in Gaza needs to recognize that they wouldnβt see those images, and wouldnβt know about the atrocities their governments bankroll, without journalists risking their lives.
That is exactly why Israel is targeting and killing them.
