If you visited the cafe at bookish recently and e’d really appreciate your reviews on Google! It’s been a bumpy ride these past 12 months as hospitality is HARD, but Mr Bookish has been cooking up a storm this month!

It’s raining outside of the bookshop and it’s raining inside of the bookshop….still trying to get this leak sorted!

Haha sometimes I actually love autocorrect
I have pirating on my list, I need to sleep tonight!!
Adds to shopping list. I assume I can but anything that dries things out seems to have more of an effect on me after taking Accutane as a teenager. My deafness also makes colds seem 10 times worse than they are!
Best cold remedies so that I stop almost sneezing my eyeballs out and that I feel human enough to brilliantly interview Jojo Moyes tomorrow evening to a sell out audience?!….GO
Thank you…..but Jeffrey?! 🤣
It’s my birthday on Friday…I think I’m buying myself an early pressie.

Last night I had a dream that we had a sell out event with Ben Fogle but on the night another writer/mathematician also called Ben Fogle turned up….chaos ensued. I have a cold, I blame the Lemsip.
Today from 10am I am driving the till in our Abergavenny shop. Small but perfectly formed 55a Frogmore Street has, in my opinion, the BEST book smell in the world.
A packed out hall
Copies of ‘The hunt for the Golden Scarab’
Maya signing books
Maya in our shop window holding books
Fabulous morning with @mglnrd.bsky.social and @panmacmillan.bsky.social and 250 local school children learning about ancient Egypt, adventure writing and of course, beetles! The Hunt for the Golden Scarab is out now!
Just a thought…has anybody checked on the large hadron collider recently?

February events are starting strong!
Just me driving the till in Crickhowell today, anybody thinking of a run out, a book purchase and a coffee?!
Funnily enough that was a discussion last week….
Thank you! So happy you think so. Always a joy to send them out into the world
Glad it arrived safe and sound!
It’s the first day of my birthday month! AND it’s no longer January, who fancies buying a book, your future self will thank you! (We need to sell approx 1400 books in Feb just to keep the lights on in the place!)
